WELCOME TO THE STABLES

The Stables has been established on the Sunshine Coast for over 10 years and is a unique training facility, primarily offering CrossFit classes.

Throughout the year members take part in the Ultimate Health Challenge (UHC), a 6 Week Lifestyle Challenge. During the challenge members learn about nutrition and adopt healthy lifestyle practices to fully live out their health and fitness potential.

We are also proud to host The Fittest 3 and The Fittest 4 CrossFit Competitions each year, where CrossFit athletes gather from around Queensland in teams of 3 and teams of 4 to compete for the title.


 
 

AVAILABLE STABLES CLASSES

CROSSFIT

The magic is in the movements. Workouts are different every day and modified to help each athlete achieve his or her goals. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone—people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.

METCON

These classes are all about building cardio - you can expect use of the cardio machines, plenty of bodyweight exercises combined with dumbbells and sandbags, a bit of boxing here and there and definitely don’t forget a bit of old school running! These classes cover interval and endurance training all programmed to help us get fitter and build those engines but without the heavy weights and high level gymnastics.

PERSONAL TRAINING

We take great pride in having fantastic personal trainers who are always developing their skills to keep you in the best shape. If you’re looking for more accountability and focus when it comes to training, we highly suggest going one-on-one with one of our personal trainers. Additionally, if you are a competitive or professional athlete, our trainers who have vast experience training athletes in a variety of sports.

 

MEET THE TEAM

Darren Tahu

Darren has been involved in CrossFit for 10 years. He is a qualified Level 2 trainer and is about to sit his Level 3 Coaches exam. Over the last 25 years, Darren has both played and coached representative rugby union, league and touch football teams. Darren has also recently returned “home” to the Sunshine Coast after an 11 year stint in New South Wales. Darren says, “Fitness and sports have been my life since I was a young boy and I like to think it still will be when I’m an old man. I love it!”

ANTHONY GARCIA

Anthony has been part of the CrossFit community for the past 8 years and has had a long time relationship with sports. He grew up playing football (gridiron), basketball and baseball, but naturally gravitated toward baseball, which lead him to play at the collegiate level.

He considers CrossFit a passion and has recently become a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer to learn more about this ever evolving sport. When he’s not in the gym, you’ll see him out having a surf!

Callum Barnard

From a young age, Callum was a talented cricket player and rugby union player. His journey to improve his strength and physique to improve his performance in his sport, led him to falling in love with training in the gym. He started training every day and thrived off achieving goals and pushing his body to new limits.

Callum found CrossFit and registered for his first CrossFit Open in 2015 and again in 2016, where he placed 36th in Australia in the teen’s category. His enjoyment in the industry set him on a path to become a qualified professional and to pursue a career in health and fitness.

Callum has a passion for showing young people the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. His knowledge, passion and enthusiasm makes him a great trainer and he is a fine example of living an active and balanced lifestyle.

TAYLA STEPHENS

A fierce CrossFit athlete and up there with the best amongst her age group, Tayla lives and breathes CrossFit. She has been doing CrossFit for 10 years and is also a part of the Australian Weightlifting Youth Squad.

Tayla is currently completing her Cert III in Fitness with us at The Stables. Along with competing, she has a passion and drive to help people improve and enhance their fitness capacity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Currently Completing - Certificate III and IV in Fitness

 
 

Harry Rowsell

Harry has been doing CrossFit since 2012 and having fun doing local competitive competitions across Victoria. He is an avid AFL, Swimmer and Martial Arts competitior.

Harry’s current passion is Olympic Lifting, Fitness and Teaching others how to do it for life!
Harry has been a CrossFit Coach for three years and is currently completing a Certificate IV in Fitness & PT to further his understanding and qualifications for health and training for longevity .

If you don’t see him in the gym, you’ll find him watching his Formula 1.
